浮遊する刺繍で絵巻物を作りました。
見つからない化石は、存在しない証拠にならない。海には、まだ名も知らぬ、想像もできない生き物たちが潜んでいる。この作品は、そんな未決の生き物たちを刺繍で形にしたものです。
なお、珊瑚の下にいるサメは福島県鮫川村に伝わる伝説の黄金のサメをイメージしました。
＊刺繍したシルクは非常に繊細で直射日光に弱いため、通常は筒がついたクッションにシルクオーガンジーの刺繍作品を載せて鑑賞します。展示に際しては、刺繍した本体は繊細で皺が取れない布なので、クッションと本体はマジックテープで止めクッション筒部分に紐を通して吊るして展示します。

Handscroll using floating embroidery. The fossils we cannot find do not prove that something never existed. In the ocean, there are still creatures whose names are unknown and whose forms we cannot even imagine. This work gives shape, through embroidery, to such undiscovered beings.
The shark beneath the coral is inspired by the “Golden Shark” legend from Samegawa Village in Fukushima Prefecture.
The embroidered silk is extremely delicate and vulnerable to direct sunlight. Normally, the silk organza embroidery is displayed on a cushion with tubes. For exhibition, the embroidered piece itself, which is fragile and cannot be flattened, is attached to the cushion with Velcro and suspended by threading a string through the cushion tubes.
