沖縄・宜野湾の海で実際に船上から見たザトウクジラのブリーチングを描きました。
水面に突如としてその姿を現し、圧巻の跳躍を見せたかと思えば、巨体は一瞬のうちに海中へと消えていく——。
「煌跳」という言葉には、“煌めき”と“跳躍”を重ね、自然の力強さと美しさを込めました。

銀箔の焼き加工や、複数種の金属箔を組み合わせることで、見る角度によって変化する多彩な輝きを生み出しました。
さらに、下地に施したランダムな凹凸が波のうねりや寄せ返す動きを生み出し、画面全体に海の躍動を宿らせました。 (えいじま　みずほ）

This piece captures the moment I witnessed a humpback whale breaching off the coast of Ginowan, Okinawa, while aboard a boat.
Suddenly emerging from the surface, the whale’s powerful leap was breathtaking—only for its massive body to vanish beneath the waves in an instant.

The title Radiant Leap merges the ideas of brilliance and motion, conveying the strength and beauty of nature in a single, fleeting moment.

By combining multiple types of metal leaf and applying a heat-treated silver leaf technique, the painting reveals a dynamic shimmer that changes depending on the viewer’s angle.
The textured underpainting adds random undulations that evoke the swell and pull of the sea, infusing the entire surface with the rhythm and energy of ocean waves. (Mizuho Eijima)
